Eva L. Norman, 90

Eva LaRene Bonsall Norman, 90, Austin, Minnesota, died peacefully at the home of her son, Bryce, on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016.
She was born May 6, 1926, near Cherokee, Iowa, the only child to Bessie Miles and Theodore Bonsall. She attended schools in Larrabee and Cherokee, Iowa. Eva’s mother died when she was 16, when she went to live with her uncle K.O. and Myrtle until she graduated high school in May 1943. In February 1944, she moved to Austin, Minnesota, and on Aug. 3, 1946, Eva married Alvin (Bud) Leroy Norman. From this union were born two sons, Bryce Allen and Lynn Leroy. Eva worked 21 years as a clerk for the Minnesota Drivers License Bureau, retiring in 1984. Eva’s favorite activities were socializing with league bowling and knitting, crocheting, and cross stitching items for the family.
Her survivors include her sons, Bryce (Carolyn) of New Richland, Minnesota, and Lynn of Buffalo, New York; grandchildren Eric (Amy) Norman of Madison Lake, Minnesota, Renee (Jon) Stoltz of Waseca, Minnesota, and Justin (Kristen) Norman of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and great-grandchild, Maxine Stoltz. She is preceded in death by both her parents, Bessie Miles Bonsall of Cherokee and Theodore Bonsall of Bandon, Oregon; and her husband, Alvin.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, at Crane Community Chapel in Austin. The Rev. Dale Christiansen will officiate. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery. The visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Mayer Funeral Home, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
