Glenn Johnson, 83, of Waltham, Minnesota, passed away on Jan, 14, 2017, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home in Austin, Minnesota.
Wayne was born on April 30, 1933, the son of Glenn and Rena (Heikes) Johnson in Waltham Township, Mower County, Minnesota. He graduated from Austin High School in 1951. In 1957, he entered into the National Guard and served for over six years. Wayne returned home to Waltham to the family farm where he worked. He enjoyed raising cattle, working with his antique tractors, and attending auctions with his brother, Lowell.
Wayne’s favorite TV shows were “American Pickers,” “Pawn Stars,” and “The Andy Griffith Show.” He enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews. Wayne was a member of the First Baptist Church in Brownsdale.
Wayne is survived by his brother, Lowell Johnson, Waltham; two nieces, Marlene (Bob) Heinz, LaSalle, Illinois and Linda (Arlie) Brandmeyer, Ankeny, Iowa; nephew, Wesley (Dondee) Johnson, Sargeant, Minnesota; great-nephew, Bryce (Krista) Johnson, Stewartville, Minnesota; great-niece and nephew, Sydney and Aaron Brandmeyer, Ankeny; great-great nieces, Kelsey and Carly and great-great nephew, Lucas-Johnson, Stewartville. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Neil and wife, Lillian Johnson; and two sisters, Doris Ellen Johnson and Mildred Johnson.
Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 501 Second Street NW in Hayfield and one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017, at the First Baptist Church, 206 East Main Street in Brownsdale with Pastor Ken Petzold officiating. Interment will be in Waltham Township Cemetery in rural Waltham. The family prefers memorials to the Waltham Cemetery. Blessed be his memory.
