Huskies down Packer girls basketball team

The Austin girls basketball team lost 80-56 to Owatonna (9-3 overall) in Ove Berven Gym Thursday.

Abby Lewis had 14 points and Awenia Nywesh had 11 points and nine rebounds for the Packers (6-7 overall, 5-5 Big Nine), who committed 26 turnovers in the loss.

“This was a tough loss to swallow,” Austin head coach Anna Meyer said. “Owatonna is a solid team and they dominated the game on both ends of the floor tonight. We got off to a rough start and couldn’t pull ourselves back into it. I know we will all bounce back and be ready to go tomorrow night against Albert Lea.”
