Manicuring a new spot; LA Nails moving Feb. 6 to new location on 18th Avenue NW

LA Nails, located on 17th Avenue Northwest, will open Feb. 6 in its new location at 1403 18th Ave. NW.
Owner La — who only goes by his single name — and manager Cathy Le have expanded the space for the shop, which has provided manicures and pedicures in Austin for the past 12 years.
“We have upgraded and remodeled and it (the new location) is much larger,” said their daughter, Jo-Ann La.
There will be more pedicure/spa chairs and more manicure tables, she added. “And we will have more room in the back, for staff,” she said. “We’re just much bigger all the way around.”
More staff will also be added, she said.
The shop will close at its regular time on Saturday, Feb. 4, move on Feb. 5 and open in the new location at 9 a.m. on Feb. 6, Jo-Ann said.
La and Cathy Le did their own decorating and patrons will be pleasantly surprised at the building’s look.
The space that once housed Kentucky Fried Chicken has been transformed into a contemporary, colorful space of soft lighting and brand new furniture.
Hours are from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
