A first for the Packers; Austin boys lose to John Marshall

The Austin boys basketball team suffered its first loss of the season as it fell to Rochester John Marshall 75-64 on the road Saturday.
Duoth Gach led Austin (9-1 overall, 6-1 Big Nine) with 25 points.
Austin had led 51-49 when Both Gach, who had 17 points, converted a lay-up with 11:26 left in the game, but JM pulled away down the stretch.
The Packers had trouble containing Matthew Hurt as he poured in 39 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, while going 14-for-17 from the field for the Rockets (9-3 overall, 8-0 Big Nine).
