Most of my life, I have been in honors classes. First it started when I was in the gifted and talented classes in elementary school. Then I took honors math and had the opportunity to take honors chemistry and physics classes in middle school. All through my high school career, I have taken honors biology and chemistry to honors math. In the past two years, I have been able to take some classes through Riverland Community College at the high school. Those classes are RCC speech, RCC freshman English, RCC government and RCC Economics.
Activities take up most of my free time when I am not in school. I am in football, track and field, basketball, link crew, band, choir, and DECA. Link crew was a program where juniors and seniors welcome in new freshman to the high school and make them feel welcomed. DECA is a program that you compete in during various competitions that include scenarios about different things that happen when you run a business.
Next year, I will be attending the University of Sioux Falls and plan to get a degree in business management. I will also be part of their track and field team who is currently ranked sixth in the nation for Division II. I also plan on playing trumpet in the band.
Someone who has really impacted my life is my brother, William. Growing up he was always my role model. I remember sitting with him while he did his homework and he would always try to teach me. My dad, my other brother, Andrew, William and I spent a lot of time outside playing sports. It was fun to learn how to play each sport and it was always competitive.
My plans for the future are to get my diploma, graduate college, and open up my own business. I believe that what my teachers, friends, and family members taught me will help me be a successful person in the future.
