The Plunging for the Pink event raised over $55,000 on Saturday, with 220 jumpers taking a dip amid mid-30s temperatures in East Side Lake.

The fifth annual fundraiser proceeds are donated to Paint the Town Pink and The Hormel Institute for research of breast cancer cures and treatments.

According to Paint the Town Pink committee member Judy Enright, funds were still coming in at the point the $55,000 number was announced, just after the plunge, so that number should increase.
