Wrestling: Austin’s Erie is headed to state meet

A year after he wasn’t able to compete due to an injury, Austin senior Jayden Erie is headed to the Class AAA state wrestling meet.
Erie was the lone state qualifier for the Packer wrestling team at the Section 1AAA in Mayo Civic Center in Rochester Saturday.
Erie won the 160-pound ‘true second’ match when he beat Brendon Bischof of Lakeville South with a 10-8 decision.
Isaac Arjes took third for the Packers at 220, Aiden Wilson was third at 138, Corey Waller took fourth at 195, Gavin Brady took fourth at 113, Moo Thaw took fifth at 132 and Eli Marks took fifth at 285.
