Delta Air Lines announced the addition of a second daily flight to Atlanta from the Rochester International Airport (RST).

Beginning July 9, Delta will serve RST with two flights daily to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) and three flights daily to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP).

“The addition of a second daily flight to the Delta hub at Atlanta is tremendous news for our region,” John Reed, executive director of the Rochester International Airport, said in a press release. “We have been emphasizing the importance of choosing to Fly Local. It takes a collective regional effort to support and recruit additional flights. This movement by Delta to add a new flight to Atlanta is only possible because of the support of the current Delta flights and the demand for more air service in our region. We thank you for choosing to support RST and for choosing to Fly Local.”

Delta Air Lines initially launched a daily flight serving Atlanta, the world’s busiest airport by passenger volume, from RST on Sept. 2, 2014.

This new Atlanta flight allows for same-day trips to more than two-dozen cities in the southeast U.S. Additionally, the second daily departure to Atlanta also provides more efficient connections to most cities in Europe and South America. Delta flights to Atlanta will be served by a CRJ-700 aircraft which includes first class seating. Flights are available for booking now at Delta.com.
