The American Legion Riders Post 91 is holding a fundraiser Saturday to support its scholarship fund.

A steak dinner, auction and raffle drawing will be held starting at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Austin American Legion, 809 12th St. SW. An all-you-can-eat steak dinner going from 5 to 8 p.m. with pre-sale tickets for $20 and tickets at the door for $25.

Member Roe Naylor said the group is aiming to raise $15,000 and has raised about $8,000.

The group gave a $500 scholarship last year to Hayfield’s Grace Mindrup, and it’s looking to increase the amount of scholarship dollars it gives.

“We’re trying to give back to the community,” Naylor said.

About 70 percent of the money will go toward the scholarship, with 20 percent going to the Legion for a new sign and 10 percent going to local veteran programs.

The raffle will include six guns and other items, and all the tickets are sold.

The silent auction will feature a new 2016 Matthew’s Bow, several gift baskets, bean bag boards binoculars, climbing sticks, gift certificates and several more than 50 total items.

People interested in donating items or with questions can call Naylor at 507-438-5804.
