Audrey I. McHugo, 80

Audrey I. McHugo, 80, of Faribault, Minnesota, passed away Friday, April 14, 2017, at the Sacred Heart Care Center in Austin, Minnesota.

Audrey Irene was born on July 14, 1936, in Fargo, North Dakota, to Arthur and Inga (Teigen) Tostrude. She was married to Lawrence McHugo on Oct.1, 1960, they had two children and were later divorced. Audrey first worked cleaning homes and offering day care. For many years she owned and operated the Faribault Roller Rink.  She also managed the Prime Rate Motel, worked at Gopher Sport Supply, and until recent years had continued her home cleaning business. Audrey’s home and yard were very well maintained. She was very talented at home design and decorating. She enjoyed hosting gatherings at her home for Christmas and other occasions. Audrey also enjoyed socializing with friends, often entertaining with karaoke.

She is survived by her children, Jim McHugo of Lyle, Minnesota, and Mary McHugo (Tim Brown) of Fargo, North Dakota; two granddaughters, Tegan McHugo and Toni McHugo; brother, Arthur “Bud” (Sharon) Tostrude of Montana; sister-in-law, Mary Jo Tostrude; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Inga; and brother, Ordean Tostrude.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 21, 2017, at the First English Lutheran Church in Faribault, with the Rev. Mark Johnson officiating. Interment will be at the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park in Faribault.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault and on Friday for one hour prior to the services at the church.
