Craig A. Berg, 51, of Owatonna, Minnesota, died on Saturday, April 8, 2017, following a hard-fought battle against cancer.
Craig was born on Nov. 28, 1965, the youngest of four children to Bob Berg and Sharon Berg. Craig was raised in Owatonna and graduated from the Owatonna High School in 1984. An excellent singer and actor, it was shortly after graduation when he immersed himself in theater. He went on to star in and direct dozens of plays throughout his life and up until his passing. Craig will always be remembered as an avid sports fan, and is lovingly referred to as “the bread man” after a lengthy career delivering bread. His infectious smile and kind heart were the cogs that brought many people together.
Craig is survived by his father, Bob (Punk) Berg of Austin, Minnesota; his sister, Paula (Craig) Ulrich of Owatonna; and two brothers, Jeff Berg, and Gary (Dawn) Berg, both of Owatonna; two nieces, Nichole (Tim) Braithwait and Samantha (Travis) Ahrens; nephew, Derrick Berg; two great-nieces; four great-nephews; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharron Berg; and niece Karissa Berg.
A memorial service is set for 2 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2017, at the Owatonna Elk’s Club. Friends may gather from noon until the time of the memorial service.
Brick-Meger Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
