Hayfield baseball team falls to Stewartville

The Hayfield baseball team lost to Stewartville (1-2 overall, 0-2 HVL) 3-1 on the road Thursday.
“We’ve got the injury bug right now and we’re missing a couple of our big bats,” Hayfield head coach Kasey Krekling said.
Freshman Jake Risius made his first career start for Hayfield (2-2 overall, 1-2 HVL) and freshman Brady Nelson made his varsity debut in relief.
“I liked what I saw out of those freshmen pitchers,” Krekling said.
