Kathleen Mae Mildenstein, 88, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, May 11, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born April 9, 1929, in Nebraska to Vernon and Mildred (Nystel) Ellison. Kathleen graduated from Austin High School and enjoyed her career as a certified nursing assistant. On July 14, 1979, she married Richard Mildenstein at Crane Community Chapel in Austin. Kathleen was a member of the Methodist faith. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was extremely happy around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They will miss her dearly.
Kathleen is survived by her husband, Richard Mildenstein of Austin; her children, Vickie (Jim) Davis of Austin and their children Jimmy and Jennifer, David (Cindy) Ostrander of Austin and their children, Derek and Nick, Gary (Shar) Ostrander of Red Wing, Minnesota, and their children, Amanda and Ben; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Holly, Eli, Dillon, Kaitlyn, Issak, Caleb, Layla, Amarra, Vaeda, Rachal, and Isaac; her sisters, Mary (Jim) Jorgenson of Austin, and Sharon (Dick) Wilke and Lynette Jast, both of Las Vegas, Nevada; her brothers, Paul (Carol) Ellison of Ventura, California, and Glen (Mary) Ellison of Springfield, Minnesota; many nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Ben Ostrander; and her sister, Charlene.
A graveside service will be held at a 3 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2017, at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston, Minnesota.
