Mower and Dodge counties have been placed in tornado watch until 11 p.m. tonight.

According to the National Weather Service, thunderstorms were rapidly developing across northeast Iowa and southeast Minnesota. Some of these storms could become severe and include large hail, damaging winds and tornadoes.

Storms are expected from the afternoon through this evening, mainly between 3 and 8 p.m.

Other counties in the watch area include Winona, Fillmore, Olmsted, Houston and Wabasha.
