The Riverland Community College baseball team is playing a little shorthanded, but it was able to win its 11th straight game when it swept Western Tech by scores of 13-3 in six innings and 14-6 on the road Tuesday.
Jason McClenahan, a freshman from Wescalo, Texas, went six-for-nine with two doubles and two RBIs on the day and Eric Torres, a freshman from Puerto Rico, went four-for-eight with an RBI.
RCC (25-4 overall) may have received even more bad news when Mason Ruhlman, who had a double, a homer and four RBIs Tuesday, went down with an injury.
“We’re worried about Mason because he does so much for this team and hopefully it’s not as bad as what worried about,” RCC head coach Scott Koenigs said. “Today McClenahan did a nice job filling in and he had some really good at bats. Eric Torres had an outstanding day for us.”
