Purse stolen from unlocked vehicle

Police are reminding people to lock their vehicles while in public places after a purse was stolen from a vehicle at Driesner Park.
According to Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger, police responded to a theft call at 4:29 p.m. Thursday at the park. The victim said she had been walking on the riverbank for half an hour and left her vehicle unlocked. When she came back, she saw the door of the vehicle, a red 1978 Plymouth Volare, was ajar.
The victim said her baby pink clutch purse was stolen. Inside the purse were bankcards, cash and prescription medication. The victim called her bank to cancel the cards.
The police have no leads at this time.
