William Leroy Lloyd, 76

William Leroy Lloyd, 76, of Austin, Minnesota, and Brownsville, Texas, passed away in Brownsville on May 8, 2017.
Bill was born on Oct. 28, 1940, in Mankato, Minnesota, to Leslie and Leona Lloyd. He graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1958 and earned his bachelor’s degree from Minnesota State University Mankato in science education and two masters degrees from Minnesota State University Mankato (biology) and the University of Idaho (chemistry).
Bill married his high school sweetheart, Judith Kollman, on Aug. 24, 1963. Bill began his teaching career in Dawson, Minnesota, before settling in Austin, where he taught at Austin High School for 35 years.
Bill and Judy were blessed with four wonderful children, William, David, Michael and Christopher.
Once Bill retired from teaching, they spent much of their time at their home in Brownsville.
In addition to teaching, Bill was a dedicated high school coach, coaching football, basketball and golf. Bill enjoyed golfing, fishing, watching his favorite sports teams and spending time with family and friends. The most important thing in his life was his family. He was a dedicated husband, loving father and wonderful grandpa.
Bill will be deeply missed and remembered always by his loving wife, Judy Lloyd; children, William (Joanna), David (Maria), Michael (Emily), Christopher (Lindsey); grandchildren, Evan, McKenzie, Kendel , Haley, Sydney, Jaxon, Jasmine, Alexandra, Ryley, Christian, and Olivia; one great-grandson, Bryden; two sisters, Judith (Bob) Schroeder, and Carol (Linus) Krahling; and many loving relatives and friends.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Saturday, July 1, in the Harvest Room at the Holiday Inn Conference Center in Austin. Memorials are preferred to the Packers Boys’ Basketball program at Austin High School.
