The Mower County board will hear a department report from Auditor-Treasurer Steve Reinartz and two tax abatements through the Austin Housing Initiative at its next regular meeting on Tuesday.

The meeting will begin in the basement boardroom of the Mower County Government Center, 201 First St. NE, at 8:30 a.m. with Reinartz’s department report, followed by Community Health business at 9 a.m. The board will then hold public hearings on two tax abatements through the Austin Housing Initiative, a tax abatement plan agreed to by the city, county and school board with the hopes of sparking new construction and new housing.
