Invitation to ribbon auction

The annual Mower County 4-H ribbon Auction will be held this year at 9 a.m. at the Crane Pavilion at the Mower County Fairgrounds on Saturday, Aug. 12, as part of the Mower County Fair.
According to Mower County 4-H Program Coordinator April Johnson, blue and red ribbon, beef, poultry, rabbits, sheep, goat and swine will go through the sale along with purple ribbon dairy and llama fibers. This is a “ribbon sale,” meaning that the buyer is bidding on a ribbon placing of the animal, only. Purchasing the animal is not an option.
Proceeds from the sale will go to the 4-Her, to help offset costs of raising the livestock; and to the Mower County 4-H Program. This program makes it possible for 4-H’ers to attend camps, leadership training, project training and other activities at little or no cost.
