Vision 2020 ‘Spirit’ group seeks volunteers

The Vision 2020 Community Pride and Spirit committee is inviting all area nonprofits and other interested organizations to attend a free presentation and training on the website “All For Good,” a database resource that helps match volunteer opportunities with potential volunteers.
The training will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 11, in the Austin Public Library’s large conference room.
One of the committee’s main goals is to promote service and volunteerism throughout Austin. This event is the result of many months of research by committee volunteers, who through personal experience, as well as feedback received from the community, have found it challenging to locate or identify volunteer opportunities around town.
“All For Good” is a free resource allows all organizations to post their opportunities in one shared space, making them easier to find for interested individuals or groups. Users can also create a profile that will match them with opportunities that require a particular set of skills or interests.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a laptop or tablet to follow along with the presentation and create an “All For Good” account (an organization’s EIN is required to sign up).
