The LeRoy-Ostrander volleyball team opened its season up with a three-game sweep over Lanesboro (0-1 overall, 0-1 SEC) on the road Thursday.

The Cardinals won by scores of 26-24, 25-20, 25-21.

“With us only winning three games last year, this is a huge improvement,” LO head coach Missy McElroy said. “These girls have worked hard and they definitely deserved this win.”

Haley Hungerholt had four kills for the Cardinals (1-0 overall, 1-0 SEC) and Emily Hofner had 35 digs.
