Cody Squier, 22

Cody William Lloyd Squier, 22, of St. Ansgar, Iowa, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2017, as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Cody was born Sept. 5, 1994, in Austin, Minnesota, the son of Brad and Pam (Theobald) Squier and was named after his two grandfathers. He attended St. Ansgar schools and graduated from St. Ansgar High School in 2013. Cody then went on to receive a degree in computer technology and certificate in web developer and game design. Cody loved attending school, furthering his education and learning new things in general.

He worked in the IT department at Hormel Foods and as salesmen for Austin’s Hometown Sears Store, which he enjoyed. Cody was an awesome young man with his whole life ahead of him. He had a good heart and would do anything for anyone. Cody was quiet yet spunky. He loved picking on his sister and his two nieces. Cody was an avid “Breaking Bad” and Chicago Bears fan and a Pokeman enthusiast. He enjoyed playing video games, going to rock concerts, Fantasy Football, and putting together Japanese action figures. Cody also enjoyed playing with his two dogs, Oreo and Bentley.

Cody is survived by his parents, Brad and Pam Squier; brother, Cory (Andrea) Squier; sister, Katie Squier; nieces, Alyssa and Peyton; grandmothers, Joyce Squier and Delores Theobald; aunts, Lori (Steve) Koenigs, Wendy (Ed) Hansen, Laura (Mario) Garza and Krista (Zach) Nelson; uncles, Kevin (Lynn) Theobald, Brian (Daneen) Theobald, and Bill (Sue) Theobald; and numerous cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.  on Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017, at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville with Father Raymond Burkle officiating. Burial will be at St. Ansgar Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville.

He was preceded in death by his sister, April Squier; grandfathers, William “Bill” Squier and Lloyd Theobald.
