Police are looking for a 20-year-old Austin man allegedly involved in a robbery on Monday.
According to Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger, one of the alleged victims identified Dajaun Wadley as the person who slapped her and took a wallet from her residence.
Officers responded to a robbery call in the 700 block of Eighth Avenue Southeast at 6:31 p.m. on Monday.
A female resident told police a black male approached her residence and asked if a male resident was home. She told him he was not and the man left.
She said the same man came back later and again asked whether the male resident was home. She told him no again, at which point the man entered the residence and attempted to remove a Playstation video game console hooked-up to the TV. She told police she scuffled with him and he eventually let go of the Playstation.
She said he then took a wallet that belonged to the male resident. When she tried to fight him, he slapped her in the face and fled on foot westbound on Eighth Avenue Southeast. She told police he was joined by a second male.
The female identified Wadley because she knew him as someone who played video games with the male resident.
The male resident said his wallet, a black trifold, contained his Social Security card, his Minnesota identification and an undisclosed amount of cash.
Officers have yet to locate Wadley. The investigation is ongoing.
Anyone who has information on Wadley’s whereabouts is asked to call the Austin Police Department at 507-437-9400.
