ROCHESTER — Rich Wright of Rochester will announce his candidacy for Minnesota’s 1st Congressional District next week at an event in Soldiers Field Park in Rochester. The campaign event will begin at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 15. He will seek the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party’s endorsement.

Wright served for 10 years in the U.S. Army Reserve and a judge advocate general, attaining the rank of captain, according to a campaign news release. He is a past prosecutor currently provides free legal services and helps families, farmers and children solve complex legal issues, it said.
