The Hayfield volleyball team won its third straight match to start the season as it swept Lake City (0-3 overall, 0-1 HVL) by scores of 25-14, 25-10, 25-15 in Hayfield Tuesday.

Maggie Streightiff had 10 kills, 15 set assists and nine digs for the Vikings (3-0 overall, 1-0 HVL) and Carrie Rutledge had eight kills and 14 digs.

“We kept them in a few games longer than we should of by our own mistakes,” Hayfield head coach Jeremy Struck said. “We will need to continue to improve in all areas on our side of the net. Sometimes winning can look a little ugly, but we will take a win any day.”
