Kenyon-Wanamingo edges out Hayfield in five games

The Hayfield volleyball team had its eight-match winning streak come to an end when it lost to Kenyon-Wanamingo (4-1 overall, 2-0 HVL) by scores of 27-25, 22-25, 25-22, 19-25, 15-12 in Kenyon Thursday.
Carrie Rutledge had 18 kills and 24 digs for the Vikings (8-1 overall, 2-1 HVL).
“This was a high-caliber match played on both sides,” Hayfield head coach Jeremy Struck said. “It is always a tremendous fight to the very end against Kenyon. It is a good loss, it will keep us humble. We will use it to make us stronger going forward.”
