Paul A. Martell, 45

Paul A. Martell, 45, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, Sept. 16, 2017, surrounded by his loving family at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Rochester – Saint Marys Campus.

He was born Aug. 28, 1972, in Austin, to Steven and Brenda (Bure) Martell. Paul was a lifelong Austin resident and graduated from Austin High School in 1991. He attended Austin Community College and Mankato State University earning an associate’s degree. On Oct. 4, 1997, he married Callie Ann Clark in Austin. To this union two beautiful daughters were born, Olivia and Stefani. Paul was a shipping supervisor at Hormel Foods and was also a manager at George’s Pizza. He enjoyed showing off his pizza-making skills at George’s Pizza. Paul enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, becoming a novice winemaker at home, camping and kayaking. He also built a new home for his family two years ago and was a former volunteer fireman in Brownsdale, Minnesota. Paul will be missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his loving wife, Callie Martell of Austin; his two daughters, Olivia Martell of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Stefani Martell of Austin; his parents, Steve and Brenda Martell of Austin; two sisters, Mona Anderson of New Hope, Minnesota, and Allicia (Michael) Raymond of Homer, Alaska; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and good friends. Paul was preceded in death by his baby sister, Stephanie; and both sets of grandparents.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, at Crane Community Chapel in Austin with Pastor Dale Christensen officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 20 at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Private family interment will be held at a later date.
