The No. 3 seeded Blooming Prairie football team knocked off No. 2 Rushford-Peterson (8-2 overall) 21-20 in a Section 1A semifinal in Rushford Saturday.

The Trojans had the ball inside BP’s 30-yard line late in the game when the Awesome Blossoms came up with a stop on downs. BP allowed just two offensive TDs and it held RP to 250 yards of offense.

“It’s a great, great victory for our defense,” BP head coach Chad Gimbel said. “Our defense played extremely well, especially against the run.”
