ADAMS – Striping on Highway 56 between Interstate 90 and Taopi has wrapped up and construction crews are finishing cleanup work from the resurfacing project, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The 16-mile resurfacing project along Hwy. 56 in Mower County replaced aging pavement. Work included grading, paving, storm sewer repair as well as guardrail installation along the route.
In Adams, the road was reconstructed and sanitary sewer, water, lighting and drainage utilities were replaced. Sidewalks, landscaping and pedestrian ramps were also upgraded.
Motorists should still be attentive for construction workers along the road shoulders as they finish final work details.
Mathy Construction is the prime contractor for the $5.2 million project.
