Anyone wanting a bit of a pick-me-up in the middle of the day might want to check out the tea-and-aloe shakes whipped up by Emily Golbuff, in her new business, Rave Nutrition, at 310 North Main St.

Golbuff, 27, opened her own business after conducting a similar one with a partner in Albert Lea. The smoothie and juice bar and vitamin supplement shop opened earlier this week. Nutrition challenges will also be a part of the operation.

The business is open 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. Challenge classes are held at different times.

The challenge classes could vary from seven to 12 weeks. At the end of that time, cash prizes are given.

Golbuff was inspired when she lost 42 pounds in three months when entering a nutrition challenge some years back. From there, she has had her eye on being part of a nutrition business — and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

“I felt so much better  after that time; before, I didn’t have a lot of energy and I always felt like I had to nap.

“Today, I am so much healthier, feel so much better — but you need support to reach your goals And that’s what I want to be for people in Austin.”
