John and Norma (Rose) Register of Fremont, Nebraska, formerly of Austin, Minnesota celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on Nov. 12, 2017.

John and Norma were high school sweethearts in the Austin class of 1949. The couple met in their home room class as juniors and have been together ever since. They were both active in Noon Kiwanis, FFA Alumni and the Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Norma spent many volunteer hours making pies at the Mower County Senior Center when it was at Woodson School. She now stays active helping veterans. She is a life member of the VFW Auxiliary and a member of the Eagles Club. They now live in Fremont where they lived for 30 years while John worked for the Hormel Company.

John and Norma are the parents of Ruth of Cedar Bluff, Nebraska, Kathy Sheilds in heaven, Allen of San Francisco, California, Sue of Hastings, Minnesota, Leann Widhalm of Norfolk, Nebraska, Richard of Fremont and Kelly Gepford of Omaha, Nebraska.
