Sean Thomas Edward Higbee, 35, of Austin, was charged with felony fourth-degree drug sales and felony fourth-degree drug possession with intent to sell on Monday in Mower County District Court.
According to the court complaint, a police informant arranged to get Adderall and Suboxone from Higbee in exchange for methamphetamine.
Higbee told the informant to meet him at the Austin Library parking lot at 1:39 p.m. on Dec. 1, according to the complaint. An officer monitored the informant as he went to the parking lot and then saw Higbee pull up in a 2002 Chrysler Town and Country minivan.
Officers approached the van and searched Higbee, finding 30 Adderall pills and five Soboxone strips on his person. He allegedly told police he was meeting with a friend who wanted to trade dope for Adderall and Suboxone, but he intended to tell his friend to refrain from drugs and get sober. He also allegedly admitted he had traded Adderall and Suboxone for methamphetamine.
A review of Higbee’s criminal history shows a previous conviction for a felony drug crime.
Felony fourth-degree drug sales and felony fourth-degree drug possession with intent to sell both carry a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison and a $100,00 fine.
Higbee will appear in court again on Dec. 14.
