Brookings ends Austin’s winning streak

The Austin Bruins had their seven-game winning streak come to an end when they lost to the Brookings Blizzard (13-11-1-1 overall) 4-3 on the road Friday.

Brookings took the lead for good when Connor Koviak scored with 8:09 left in the game.

Austin had taken a 3-2 lead when Evan Cholak scored in the second period, but it couldn’t hang on.

Alex Schilling had 36 saves in the loss for Austin (13-7-1-3 overall).
