Diana Nelson, certified physician assistant, recently joined the Family Medicine Department at Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin.

“I enjoy family medicine because I am able to care for the whole family, even multi-generations sometimes,” Nelson said. “I get to know my patients over years and guide them through different stages of life.”

Nelson received her master’s degree in physician assistant studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha and completed her degree while she was in the Air Force at Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas. She completed residency training at Carswell Air Force Base in Texas. Nelson’s professional interests include geriatrics and women’s health.

Raised nearby in Hayfield, Nelson is thrilled to join Mayo Clinic Health System and the Austin community.

“I have always been impressed with the caring and welcoming attitudes of staff at Mayo Clinic Health System,” she said. “I know I will enjoy working here.”
