Barbara J. Olson, 78, of Austin, Minnesota, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus-Rochester.

Barbara Jean Olson was born Jan. 18, 1940, in Austin, the daughter of Glenn Sr. and Bernice (Downs) Yocom. She graduated from Austin High School in 1958. Barbara was married to Robert Eugene Olson on Nov. 2, 1962, in Austin. Barbara enjoyed bingo, playing cards, monopoly and was an avid sports fan. For the past few months, she resided at Grand Meadow Healthcare Center in Grand Meadow, Minnesota.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Connie Johnson; parents; and brothers, Charles and Robert Yocom.

She is survived her daughters, Valerie (Olson) and Wade Schewe of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, and Carol (Olson) Gusa, Commerce City, Colorado; son, Curtis Olson, Austin; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Bonnie (Yocom) Geffert, St. Ansgar, Iowa; brothers, Glenn Yocum Jr. , Austin, and Ronald (Carolyn) Yocom, Austin; nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials.
