The Austin Bruins are making a habit of winning in overtime and that continued as they bested the Minot Minotauros (15-14-4-2 overall) 4-3 in an extra session in Minot Friday.
Travis Kothenbeutel scored the game-winner for Austin (20-10-1-4 overall) on his second goal of the night, which came just 32 seconds in to the OT period. Austin forced OT when Lane Krenzen scored near the end of the second period and Josef Mysak tied the game at 3-3 in the third.
Four of Austin’s last six games have gone into extended time and the Bruins have won all six of their contests in January.
Alex Schilling had 17 saves in the win for Austin.
