The Hayfield boys basketball team had a strong start, but it fell short in a 65-48 loss to Rochester Lourdes (9-5 overall, 4-4 HVL) in Hayfield Friday.

The Vikings (1-14 overall, 0-8 HVL) held a six-point advantage at halftime, but the Eagles came storming back into the game in the second half.

“They picked up their intensity in the second half and they came out with a little more energy,” Hayfield head coach Chris Pack said.

Sophomore Luke Dudycha had 23 points and 11 rebounds for Hayfield.
