The Lyle-Pacelli boys basketball team couldn’t hold on as it lost to Spring Grove (11-5 overall, 6-0 SEC) 61-57 in Pacelli Gym Tuesday.
The Athletics (8-9 overall, 3-7 SEC) led throughout much of the night, but the Lions grabbed a one-point lead with 50 seconds left in the game. Frederico Pulgarin had a lay-up bounce out on LP’s next possession and the Lions had two offensive rebounds in their final possession as they put the game away.
“We just didn’t get the bounces, but our kids played really hard against the best team in the conference,” LP head coach Scott Koenigs said. “They’re getting better and I’m pretty proud of the way we played tonight.”
