Woman on probation facing new drug charges

Kimberly Rodriguez, 25, of Austin was charged in Mower County District Court on Tuesday with felony fifth-degree drug possession, felony storing methamphetamine paraphernalia in the presence of a child and petty misdemeanor possession of a small amount of marijuana.
According to the court complaint, police were dispatched at 11:20 a.m. on Saturday to a residence in the 1200 block of Third Avenue Southwest after a woman found drugs.
Rodriguez was arrested and taken to the Mower County Jail where she allegedly tested positive for methamphetamine and marijuana.
Rodriguez is on probation for a prior conviction of felony fifth-degree drug possession, to which she pleaded guilty on Sept. 2, 2016.
Felony fifth-degree drug possession and felony storing methamphetamine paraphernalia in the presence of a child carry maximum penalties of five years in prison and $10,000 fines.
Rodriguez will appear in court again on Jan. 12.
