The Blooming Prairie girls basketball team beat Medford (13-7 overall, 4-6 Gopher) 58-39 on the road Thursday.

Sam Wurst had 16 points, eight rebounds and three assists for BP (15-5 overall, 9-2 Gopher). Medford had won 11 of its last 13 games, but BP was able to step up its defense in the win. The Awesome Blossoms opened the second half on a 17-2 run to pull away.
