The Austin City Council will hold its annual retreat this evening at the Jay C. Hormel Nature Center.

The heads of the various city departments will review their progress in 2017 and discuss their 2018 goals.

Departments presenting include Parks and Recreation, Planning and Zoning, Public Works, Administrative Services/Clerk, Fire Department, Police Department and Library.

There will also be discussion on a compensation and classification study, housing in Austin and the Local Option Sales Tax.

The retreat will begin at 4 p.m. today and is scheduled to end after 8 p.m. The event is open to the public.
