A beagle was taken to a veterinarian to be treated for injuries after being attacked by another dog on Tuesday.

According to the report, a Mower County deputy responded to a call at 12:45 p.m. to a residence in the 200 block of 15th Street Southeast. A resident said the neighbor’s 4-year-old Labrador retriever/German shepherd mix got into her yard and attacked her beagle.

She heard the beagle crying and saw the other dog had her pinned down and was biting her. She was able to separate the dogs.

The beagle was taken to the vet to be treated for bite injuries.

The owner of the Labrador retriever/German shepherd mix received a notice of a potentially dangerous dog. The owner has the option to appeal the notice to the Austin City Council.
