Kieth Eugene Anderson, 28, of Austin was charged on Friday in Mower County District Court with felony stalking-repeatedly making telephone calls/sending text messages and three counts of felony violating an order for protection.
According to the court complaint, a woman on Feb. 7 reported Anderson had violated an order for protection she had filed against him. She said he allegedly contacted her on Jan. 14, but she didn’t recognize the number. When she inquired who it was, he used a nickname she used to call him. She said he sent her another message on Feb. 7, but she didn’t respond. She also showed the officer her call log, which allegedly showed Anderson had tried to call her several times.
The woman met with an officer again Feb. 11 after Anderson had called her four times, according to the complaint. When she answered on the third call, he allegedly yelled at her for “putting a warrant out for his arrest.” She did not answer when he called again. She then allegedly received a text message from him saying, “Karma is a (expletive).”
Anderson was arrested on a warrant on Thursday.
A review of Anderson’s criminal history shows prior convictions for domestic assault, trespassing, offering forged checks, financial transaction card fraud, disorderly conduct and predatory offender registration violations.
Anderson will appear in court again on March 1.
