Third and fourth grade Neveln Elementary School student council members raised $500 to donate to the Mower County Humane Society.
“These student council members truly understand what it means to help our community out,” said adviser Jennifer Duley.
Each year, student council members attend weekly meetings to plan events for Neveln and the community.
This year alone students donated supplies for hurricane relief, raised money for Jump Rope for Heart, and donated money to the humane society. The student council members still have a long list of ideas they are wanted to accomplish: cleaning litter around Neveln, writing letters to heroes in the community and organizing the second Culture Day at Neveln.
