Winter coffee party/travel show is Feb. 21

We all agree after our cold past few weeks, that we are ready to get out of hibernation to join others for some fellowship and hot beverages and goodies at our Winter Coffee Party and Travel Show. Plus, we’re ready to sign-up for door prizes.
This will also be the day that we bring out a calendar of our travel schedules offered.
Join us at the Senior Center 400 Third Ave. NE, 9 a.m. – noon.
We have a variety of outings already planned for this year. We are excited to offer our first trip to the U.S. Bank Stadium. The Super Bowl recently gained more interest as many of us viewed this on television. This tour will take you behind the scenes with an in-depth guided tour, including the locker rooms and club suites along with a lot of history and a walk on the field. In the afternoon we will take you to the Mall of America where you will take a “Flight Across America.”
We will host several stage plays, with the first one being the “Jersey Boys” at the Orpheum. This evening performance may appeal and be accessible for some travelers.
The “Jersey Boys” has received many awards for the performances with 1950s-60s music they have written, which many will recognize. Remember “Sherry” and “Walk like a Man”? These four, blue collar workers netted over $176 million before the age of 30. We were able to reserve seats with special rates and have also planned a dinner stop prior to the show. This one has already generated a lot of interest.
Other shows will include “Newsies” at the Chanhassen, “Beauty and the Beast,”, “Drinking Habits,” to name a few.
Other ideas for this season will include a trip to the National Czech Museum and Festival in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Czech food, dancing performers and a lot of history is all included. A return trip of our last “Mystery Trip” took us to a horse ranch with an awesome display of carousel horses and horse demonstrations. This will be the same trip and we invite children to join us on June 18. Special rates will apply.
A return trip to Branson at Christmas has a great schedule with five shows, and a whole lot more.
If you have photos to share, please bring them along. We will have some travel displays also.
