Barbara Ann Parmenter, 63, of Austin, Minnesota, died Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin.

Barb was born Aug. 13, 1954, in Le Mars, Iowa, to Junior and Darlene (Sanow) Conner. The family moved to Austin in 1967.

On Sept. 23, 1995, she was united in marriage to John Parmenter. They made their home in Austin. Barb was employed as a nurse’s aide at various nursing homes, including Burr Oak Manor, Sacred Heart Care Center and Our House Assisted Living.

Barb enjoyed going to the casino, bingo and Yahtzee, and caring for her grandchildren, who enjoyed pizza parties with Grandma. She was a strong caring person and a fighter who always put others needs before her own.

Survivors include her husband, John Parmenter, Austin; daughter, Dawn (Kenny) Stroebl, Kasson, Minnesota; sons, Donny Stroebl, Dodge Center, Minnesota, Matthew Stroebl, Kasson, and Jeff (Christine) Parmenter, Austin; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; mother, Darlene Conner, Austin; brothers, Bruce Conner, Austin, Dean (Wendy) Conner, Austin, and Rick (Lori) Conner, Bloomington, Minnesota; and sisters, Betty (Daryl) Griese, Austin, Deb (Don) Enfield, Austin, Penny Conner, Austin, and Bonnie (John) Morrison, Humboldt, Iowa.

She is preceded in death by her father, Junior Lee Conner; sister, Fay Enfield; brother, Gene Conner; and sister-in-law, Diana Conner.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 23, at Austin Christian Fellowship with Barry Thompson and Gene Culbert officiating. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church on Friday. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
