In an effort to curtail the population of unwanted cats in Mower County, the Mower County Humane Society, along with the Austin Vet Clinic, has been sponsoring a feline spay/neuter clinic. The clinic started on Feb. 19 and will continue until March 30.
“We have not filled up this event this year as we have done in past years,” said MCHS volunteer Kelly Rush. “We have space for 200 cats from Mower County.”
The clinic offers reduced prices of $50 for females and $40 for males. Cats that are spayed or neutered are also eligible for reduced rabies and distemper shots for $10 each.
Pet porters are required for each cat for surgery recovery.
