KSMQ adds three new board members

KSMQ Public Television has elected three new members to its board of directors.
Joining the governing board are Chad Adams, Miguel Garate and Kim Norton.
Adams is the city manager of Albert Lea. He holds a master’s degree in public policy from the University of Northern Iowa.
Adams serves as a board member to the Riverland Community College Foundation and is co-chairman of the Albert Lea Blue Zones Initiative.
Garate, of Austin, is the multicultural adviser at Riverland Community College where he has served since 2001. He is a graduate of Autonomous University of Tamaulipas in Victoria, Tamaulipas, Mexico, and earned an accounting degree from Professional Lycee of Commerce and Administration, A.C., Matamoros, Mexico. Garate is active in numerous service groups and non-profit agencies in Austin.
Norton, of Rochester, left the Minnesota State Legislature in January 2017 after serving five terms in the House of Representatives, representing Rochester. She is a candidate for mayor of Rochester.
Norton was the Minnesota House author of the $585 million Destination Medical Center bill that passed in 2013. She is a Bush Fellow and holds a master’s degree from the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs.
