Senior left fielder Linnea Sunde said the Awesome Blossoms were happy to be out and playing after a frustrating spring of waiting to get on the field.

“It felt good to finally be able to play and not have a snowstorm hit us,” Sunde said. “We were able to take what we’ve been working on and put it to the test. We did have a lot of mental errors and we didn’t hit the ball as well as we should’ve. I feel like it’s because of the unfortunate situation and we haven’t had any games.”

Riauna Bishop allowed five earned runs as she struck out four in the circle for the Blossoms.

With its first action out of the way, the Blossoms are hoping to keep pushing to get better before the Section 1A tournament begins May 21.

“I believe in us and I know we can do well,” Sunde said. “I think we have a lot of potential.”
